This physics video tutorial provides a basic introduction into elastic potential energy. It explains how to derive the equation / formula for elastic potential energy using work - energy principles and force displacement graphs. In addition, it explains how to calculate the work done by a spring force and how such a force is related to Hooke's law of springs which states that the restoring force is proportional to the spring constant and the displacement of the spring from its natural length. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems.
